Vyvanse is a prescription drug used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The medication works by restoring the balance of certain natural chemicals in your brain and can be an effective treatment when combined with other treatments such as psychological and social therapies.
Vyvanse may help your child increase their ability to pay attention, stay focused, and stop fidgeting. Vyvanse may also be used to treat binge eating disorder (BED).
Vyvanse is taken in pill form as directed by your doctor, usually once daily in the morning. Your children should not take this medication in the afternoon or evening because it may cause them to have trouble sleeping. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.
If your child is experiencing any of these side effects in severe form, please do not hesitate to call your doctor right away:
Loss of Appetite
Sweating, weight loss, irritability, diarrhea, chest pain, upper stomach pain, and restlessness may occur. If any of these side effects are severe in your children, it is important to speak to your doctor as soon as possible.
